Photos are the core content of every Shootbin project. You upload them into albums, where clients and approvers can review them, leave visual notes, approve selects, and track revision history. Shootbin preserves the original filename of every uploaded file so you can always trace a photo back to its source.

Upload photos to an album

Open the album

Navigate to the album you want to add photos to.

Open the upload dialog

Click Add photo in the top-right area of the album view. If you have reached your plan’s photo limit for this project, Shootbin will show an upgrade prompt instead.

Select or drop files

Drag files into the upload area or click to browse. Shootbin accepts standard image formats as well as TIFF files (.tif, .tiff).
To be able to offer you the complete flow, from shoot until delivery, it’s important that you upload your photos exactly as you wish to deliver them to your client.So upload them in the biggest size and quality that you would want to send your client.

Monitor upload progress

Each file shows an individual progress bar. Successful uploads appear in the album grid immediately. Any failed uploads are listed with an error message so you can retry.

Photo states

Every photo is either approved or unapproved.

Unapproved

This photo is not approved. It can still receive annotations.

Approved

The approver has signed off on this photo. Approved photos contribute to the project’s selection count.
Approvers toggle approval directly from the album grid or from inside the photo view. Owners can also approve photos.

Rate photos

In the photo view, each approver can give a photo a personal rating from 1 to 5 stars. Other approvers can rate the same photo independently. Shootbin saves each rating automatically and shows approvers only their own stars. Ratings do not change approval. For Lightroom sync, Shootbin uses the rounded average of the ratings that were actually given.

Bulk operations

When you need to act on multiple photos at once, use selection mode.

Enter selection mode

Click Select photos in the album toolbar. Checkboxes appear on each photo thumbnail.

Select photos

Click individual photos to select them. You can select as many as you need.

Choose a bulk action

With photos selected, the toolbar shows the following actions:
  • Approve, mark all selected photos as approved
  • Move, move selected photos to another album in the same project (or create a new album as the destination)
  • Delete, permanently remove selected photos

Confirm and exit selection mode

After completing the action, click Cancel or the X button to exit selection mode.
Bulk delete is permanent. Deleted photos, including all their revisions and annotations, cannot be recovered.

Watermarking

Shootbin has two separate watermark systems:
  • The Proofing Watermark is rendered over web variants shown to clients during review. Configure it under Profile → Studio → Watermark. It never changes the original upload.
  • Export Watermarks are reusable text or transparent PNG presets for generated delivery sizes and Instagram output. Enable them separately for each output while creating a delivery package.
Original files in a delivery never receive an Export Watermark. If you need watermarked originals, apply the watermark before uploading them to Shootbin.
Keep the Proofing Watermark and Export Watermarks independent. This lets you use a protective mark during review and different branding for web, print, or Instagram delivery files.

Reorder photos

In an album where you are the owner, you can drag and drop photo thumbnails to change their display order. The new order is saved immediately in the background.
Reordering is disabled when feedback filters are active or when selection mode is on. Clear filters and exit selection mode first if the drag handle is not responding.
