A project in Shootbin is the top-level container for a client engagement or shoot. Everything — albums, photos, review rounds, deliveries, and member invitations — lives inside a project. When you start a new shoot, you create a new project, invite your client as an approver, and build out albums within it.

Create a project

1

Go to project creation

From the dashboard, click New project.
2

Enter a project name

Give the project a name that identifies the engagement (e.g. “Smith Wedding 2026” or “Brand Campaign Q3”).
3

Save the project

Click Create project. Shootbin creates the project and sets it as your active project.
If you have reached your plan’s active project limit, Shootbin will prompt you to upgrade before allowing you to create another project. See plan limits below.

Switch between projects

Shootbin tracks one active project at a time. To switch, use the project switcher in the sidebar or account menu. Selecting a different project updates your active context — albums, photos, and all project-scoped pages will reflect the newly selected project.

Archive and restore projects

Archiving moves a project out of your active projects list without deleting it. Archived projects and their photos remain accessible but do not count toward your active project limit.
1

Archive a project

Open the project’s settings page. Use the Archive project action to move it to the archived state.
2

View archived projects

Use the Archived projects option in the sidebar or project menu to see all your archived projects.
3

Restore a project

From the archived projects list, click Restore on the project you want to reactivate. The project returns to your active projects list.
Restoring a project counts toward your active project limit. If you are already at your limit, you will need to archive another project first or upgrade your plan.

Invite members to a project

Each project supports three roles:

Owner

Full access. The account that created the project. Can manage albums, upload photos, send projects for review, and deliver files.

Approver

Can review photos, approve or reject selects, and leave visual notes directly on images.

Guest

View-only access to albums and photos. Cannot create, edit, or leave feedback.
To invite a member, go to Project settings and use the Members section to send an invitation by email. The invitee receives a link to accept. Owners can update or remove members at any time.

Plan limits

The number of active and archived projects you can have depends on your plan.

Archiving a project frees up an active project slot without deleting any data. If you regularly cycle through client engagements, archiving is the most efficient way to stay within your plan’s active project limit.
