What you can do

Connect Shootbin to ChatGPT or another compatible AI assistant. Create projects, add participants, archive or delete projects, create or delete albums, check review progress, move reviews forward, and prepare final client deliveries with the packages and watermarks you choose. The assistant follows the access you approve and your existing Shootbin permissions and plan limits.

Available tools

  • get_project_review_overview returns project names, review status, review dates, deadlines, and album and photo counts.
  • get_project_review_context returns one project’s status, active review round, deadline, limited readiness state, and active album IDs and names.
  • get_delivery_options lists the delivery packages and watermark presets saved to your account and whether your plan includes Instagram output.
  • create_project creates a project with the name you provide. Shootbin applies your project creation permissions and account limits.
  • add_project_member adds someone with an existing Shootbin account, or sends a regular email invitation if the address does not have an account. You can assign approver, guest, secondshooter, or downloader. Only the project owner can manage participants, and Shootbin applies the existing role and plan limits.
  • archive_project archives a project you own, subject to your plan’s archive limit. The project and its content remain available, and you can restore it in Shootbin.
  • delete_project schedules a project you own for recoverable deletion. delete_project_album schedules an album for recoverable deletion if you have permission to manage it. Restore either in Shootbin before its scheduled deletion date.
  • create_project_album creates an album in a project you can manage.
  • request_project_review sends a ready project to its approvers. Only the project owner can request a review, and the project must have an approver, photos, and no uploads in progress.
  • deliver_project starts a final client delivery for a project you own. Choose delivery packages first, then optionally include originals, Instagram output, and a watermark preset for each output. The generation runs in the background, and the tool reports when it starts.
  • submit_project_review_decision lets an approver submit complete or edits for an active review. complete requires an approved photo. edits requires unresolved photo feedback and an available review round.
Authorize mcp:read to view project information and delivery options. Authorize mcp:write to create, archive, or delete projects, manage participants, create or delete albums, perform review actions, or start client deliveries. The assistant checks your saved options first, asks when a package or watermark name is unclear, and starts a delivery only when you explicitly ask. Originals, Instagram output, and watermarks are included only when you request them. Replacing an existing delivery requires your explicit confirmation. The tool reports that processing has started; your project recipients are notified when the files are ready. The integration does not provide photo files, upload controls, download links, or client contact details.

Example requests

  • “Create a Shootbin project called ‘John and Jane wedding shoot’ and add john@example.com and jane@example.com as approvers.”
  • “How many photos are still unapproved in ‘John and Jane wedding shoot’?”
  • “Send ‘John and Jane wedding shoot’ to the approvers for review.”
  • “Which delivery packages and watermarks can I use?”
  • “Deliver ‘John and Jane wedding shoot’ using the web and print packages, without originals.”
  • “Add my text watermark to the web package and include Instagram output.”
  • “Archive the completed ‘John and Jane wedding shoot’ project.”
  • “Delete the old preview album in ‘John and Jane wedding shoot’.”
For invitations, provide each person’s email address. The assistant can report how many photos are not approved; it cannot determine which photos still need editing. You can request a review only if you own the project and it has photos, at least one approver, and no uploads in progress.

What you need

  • An active Shootbin account
  • An MCP client that supports OAuth 2.1 Authorization Code with PKCE S256 and the OAuth resource indicator
  • A Shootbin server URL reachable over HTTPS
MCP access is available on every Shootbin plan. You do not need an Agency plan or a general Shootbin API token.

Connect a client

1

Open your MCP settings in Shootbin

Sign in and go to Profile → Account. Find AI connections (MCP) and copy the server URL shown there.
2

Add the Shootbin server to your client

In your AI client’s settings, add a custom MCP server and paste the URL. Choose OAuth when the client asks how to connect.
3

Sign in and grant access

The client opens Shootbin’s sign-in and consent flow. Sign in to the account whose projects you want to make available, then approve mcp:read. Also approve mcp:write if you want the assistant to create, archive, or delete projects, manage participants, create or delete albums, perform review actions, or start client deliveries.
4

Work with your projects

Ask the assistant to create, archive, or delete a project, add a participant, check review progress, create or delete an album, request a review, submit an approver decision, or prepare a client delivery with selected packages and watermarks. Shootbin checks your permissions and plan limits for each action. You can restore archived projects and recover deleted projects or albums in Shootbin.
You can only read and manage projects that your Shootbin account is allowed to access. Only the project owner can add participants. Connecting MCP does not change your project roles or permissions.

Disconnect a client

Open Profile → Account and revoke the client authorization under the MCP section. Shootbin then revokes the access and refresh tokens for that client. Connect again from the AI client if you want to restore access.

About ChatGPT and other clients

Use the server URL from your Shootbin account with ChatGPT or another MCP client that supports the OAuth requirements above. Each client controls whether custom MCP servers are available for your account or workspace. Shootbin cannot enable that client-side setting for you. If your client does not support OAuth 2.1 with PKCE S256 and resource indicators, it cannot connect to the Shootbin MCP server.
