If a photographer invited you as an Approver, Guest, or Downloader, your account has already been created for your email address. You may receive the secure invitation link in an email from Shootbin or in a message sent by the project owner. The link gives you access to the project.

Accepting an invitation

Find your invitation link

Open the invitation email from Shootbin or the message from the project owner. If you expected a Shootbin email and do not see it, check your spam folder or ask the owner for the link.

Open the secure sign-in link

Open the link. If it came from Shootbin, click Accept Invitation in the email. Shootbin signs you in with the account created for your email address. You do not need to register or enter a password.

Access the project

The invitation is accepted automatically and you arrive at the dashboard. Click the project to open it and start reviewing.
The sign-in link in your invitation does not expire while it remains unused. After your first sign-in, the link automatically becomes invalid.

Sign in again later

Your account does not have a password by default. When you want to sign in again, request a sign-in link by email from the login page:

Enter your email address

Use the same email address that the project owner invited.

Request a sign-in link

Shootbin sends a new secure link to your email address.

Open the link

Click the link in the email to sign in without a password.
A sign-in link provides direct access to your account. Do not forward the email or link to anyone else.

Optionally set a password

You can continue using Shootbin without a password. If you also want to sign in with a password, set one from your profile:

Open your profile

Sign in through a sign-in link and open Profile in Shootbin.

Go to Update Password

Find the Update Password section in your profile settings.

Choose a password

Enter a new password, confirm it, and save your changes.
After setting a password, you can choose between your password and a new email sign-in link when signing in.
If you already had a Shootbin account with a password before receiving the invitation, that password will continue to work. You can still use the sign-in link from the invitation. Your dashboard shows all projects you have been invited to. Each project card displays:
  • Project name and status (draft, in review, or complete)
  • A badge showing the number of new annotations or updates since your last visit
  • Quick actions to open the project or view recent activity

Roles at a glance

Shootbin has three client-facing roles for non-owners. Your role is assigned by the project owner when they invite you.

Approver

Full review access. You can browse albums, approve photos, add annotations, send the project back for edits, mark it complete, and download delivery files.

Guest

View-only access. You can browse albums and photos and view existing annotations, but you cannot approve and annotate, or participate in the review workflow.

Downloader

Delivery-only access. You can download the final package, but cannot view albums, approve photos, or participate in review.
You cannot change your own role, contact the project owner if you need different permissions.
