# Approve and reject photos

> Mark photos as approved or rejected, use star ratings, and act on multiple photos at once.

As an Approver, you can mark each photo as approved or rejected. This helps the owner know exactly which images made the cut. Guests cannot approve or reject photos.

## Approving and rejecting individual photos

    Navigate to an album and click any photo to open the editing view.

  <Step title="Approve or reject">
    Use the **Approve** button (`Ctrl+P` / `Cmd+P`) to mark the photo as approved, or the **Reject** button (`Ctrl+X` / `Cmd+X`) to mark it as rejected. The photo's status badge updates immediately.

  <Step title="Change your mind">
    Clicking the same action again toggles the status back to neutral. You can switch between approved, rejected, and neutral at any time during an active review round.

## Bulk approve and reject

When you need to act on many photos at once, use the bulk selection tools in the album view.

    In the album view, click the checkbox on any photo thumbnail to enter selection mode. A toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen.

  <Step title="Select multiple photos">
    Check the box on each photo you want to act on, or use the "Select all" option to choose every photo in the album.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apply an action">
    Click **Approve** or **Reject** in the toolbar. All selected photos are updated at once.

## Rating photos with stars

You can give each photo a star rating (1–5 stars) to indicate preference. Click the stars below the photo to set a rating. Star ratings are independent of the approved/rejected status, a 5-star photo can still be marked as rejected if it's not selected for delivery.
